About Us
Lone Star Cyclists is an organization of road bicycling enthusiasts (solo road, recumbent, tandem and self-contained touring riders) mainly from Arlington, Grand Prairie and other areas of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We are dedicated to the interests of recreational bicycling, bicycling safety, and camaraderie of the highest nature in our membership. We like to ride our bikes, get home in one piece, and seriously enjoy having fun.
Established in 1973 as the Grand Prairie Bicycling Association, Lone Star Cyclists have weekly Saturday club rides that vary from week to week, and training rides Tuesday and Thursday evenings year round. We enjoy coming together for special events throughout the year (an end-of winter party in February, a club picnic in May, an annual trip for camping and bicycling in October, and an annual holiday party in December. Our club is an affiliated member of the League of American Bicyclists and the Adventure Cycling Association.
