In recent years the bluebonnets in this part of Texas have been some of the best in the state. Our ride will take place the weekend after the Ennis Bluebonnet Festival so the wildflowers should be in peak season.
This is a self contained, bike overnight tour. But since it is just one night and we’re staying in a hotel, you will only have to carry a few pounds of stuff.
The tour starts at Maypearl High School at 600 Phillips St, Maypearl, TX 76064. We will drive to our start location Saturday morning and ride out from there. The destination for the day will be Ennis. If the wildflowers are as great as they usually are you will probably want to stop and take lots of pictures. In Ennis we will select a restaurant to share a meal together and talk about all the things we saw that day.
The return trip on Sunday will follow a different route with even more bluebonnet photo ops.
Saturday’s route will be 63 miles with a lunch stop at The Station Pizza and Subs in Blooming Grove. Sunday’s ride will be 43 miles with a lunch stop at Big Al’s in Waxahachie.
We need to be at the high school ready to roll on Saturday morning at 9:00am.
We have a block of rooms on hold at:
QUALITY INN. (972) 875-9641
107 Chamber of Commerce Dr.
Ennis, TX
1 King Rm = $119 +tx. 2 Q Beds = $119+tx.

If you‘re not doing the Bike Overnight, LSC has a great ride for you as a Daytripper!
With routes from Maypearl of 33, 41, 55, and 73 miles, there‘s something for everyone. We‘ll be on country roads framed by wildflowers, trees, and farmland. Everyone goes through Italy, home of our own Tour d‘ Italia. Longer routes roll through Avalon and up to Waxahachie. These are some of the best roads to ride so come join us! Daytrippers ride out at 8:30 am, Bike Overnight riders depart at 9am.
Please note the attached routes are for the Daytrippers only - Bluebonnet Bike Overnight group will obtain their routes from the Tour Group leader. NOTE: STARTING LOCATION IS MAYPEARL HIGH SCHOOL, visible off FM 157.
